Write it Out and it Will Hit You Hard!

87.5 hours of work, 14 hours of travel time, 3.5 hours of being at work the half an hour early which is expected. This is only one week in my life. In one month that is a total of a minimum 315 hours a month spent with something to do with work. Let me just tell you now, there are no weekends involved. I work in construction and I love my job. I have never added up the hours until this very moment. Wow, I have no life, I mean I knew I had no life, but when you turn it into a number, that’s really bad. Talk about a loser! but you know what?

I wouldn’t change it for the world. I work a minimum of 14 days straight and I love every second of it. I am a heavy equipment operator. As a women it is hard to get into this trade to begin with as, no offence to any man who may be reading this or any man that might in the construction industry reading this, many are sexist and the only way into a company is through the pants of the company! I have seen it often! I though did not achieve my goal this way. I got the training I needed and proved myself worthy of the work I do, not without a rough run though I must say. That is for another story.

I am proud to say that I love the sound of my over sized tonka toys, that I am a heavy equipment operator and I am not afraid to tell you, I have severe Fibromyalgia.

Would You Have Ever Known?
